Maintenance Mechanic

  • Install, repair, and/or replaces plumbing fixtures of any type, and any size water, sewer, storm lines up to 6-inch in diameter.
  • Construct, install, repair, and modify wood, wood substitute structures, and other items requiring close tolerance fit and structural soundness.
  • Paint, plaster, and perform a variety of masonry repairs.
  • Prepare surfaces by methods such as smoothing with pumice and rottenstone, filling, shaping, and leveling with metal and synthetic resins, and mixing and applying pre-coating agents.
  • Build sheds, cabinets, and installs shades, blinds, and tile.
  • Install, repair, and/or replaces any type of electrical fixtures, and any size electrical lines from 110 - 220 volts circuits.

Human Resources Specialist

  • Serve as a Human Resources Specialist at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) to provide comprehensive Human Capital management support to senior officials and the Human Resources Officer.
  • Apply a comprehensive knowledge of recruitment and placement principles and concepts, position management and classification, and broad personnel management knowledge to identify, analyze and resolve unique ANC problems
  • Paint, plaster, and perform a variety of masonry repairs.
  • Prepare surfaces by methods such as smoothing with pumice and rottenstone, filling, shaping, and leveling with metal and synthetic resins, and mixing and applying pre-coating agents.
  • Oversee recruitment and hiring efforts, including acting as the lead for this effort, and formulating policies and plans to recruit and retain a high quality ANC workforce.
  • Advise on the full range of LMER topics such as discipline, leave (FMLA, VLTP, sick leave, LWOP, veteran?s leave, etc.), telework, work schedules, labor relations, performance plan development, DPMAP, awards, drug testing and OWCP issues.
