Arlington National Cemetery to Hold Annual Wreaths Out Event on Saturday, Jan. 11

ARLINGTON, VA – Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) and Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery (SAHNC) in Washington, D.C. will hold their annual removal of wreaths, known as Wreaths Out, on Saturday, Jan. 11, beginning at 8 a.m.


Wreaths Across America Day: Dec. 14

On Saturday, Dec. 14, the annual Wreaths Across America (WAA) event will be held at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) and the Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery (SAHNC). Visitors will lay wreaths throughout ANC and SAHNC on headstones and columbarium niches to honor the sacrifice of our nation’s service members and veterans. ANC will open to visitors at   8 a.m. and SAHNC will open at noon.


Wreaths Across America Family Pass Holder Day: Dec. 8

On Sunday, Dec. 8, the annual Wreaths Across America Family Pass Holder Day will be held at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) and the Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery (SAHNC). From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., family pass holders are invited to place a wreath at their loved one’s grave ahead of the National Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, Dec. 14.


Notice of Availability: Environmental Assessment for the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial Visitor Education Center

National Veterans Day Observance Open to Public

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The 71st annual National Veterans Day Observance, honoring the men and women who have served and continue to serve in the U.S. armed forces during war and peacetime, will take place on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, at 11 a.m., in the Memorial Amphitheater at Arlington National Cemetery.


Hydrant Flushing Notice

Beginning Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) will be flushing all fire hydrants in its water distribution system, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.


Marine Corps Marathon: Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024

Tour: "Tiny Ships, Big Sailors: Destroyer Escort Men of World War II"

On Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Arlington National Cemetery History Office and the Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC) will host a special tram tour focused on the critical role of destroyer escorts during World War II. Join us as we visit the gravesites and honor the contributions of these brave sailors and their role in the Battle of Samar.


Public Scoping Meeting for ANC Entry Corridor Area: Oct. 16

ARLINGTON, Va. – Army National Military Cemeteries (ANMC) is beginning preparation of a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) assessment for Area Development Plan 1 (ADP1). ADP1, or the “Entry Corridor Area,” serves as the primary visitor and ceremonial entrance to Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) and includes significant facilities including the Welcome Center and visitors’ parking garage, the Administration Building (where families meet with cemetery representatives prior to funerals), the Military Women’s Memorial and various support areas.
