Road Closures Within Arlington National Cemetery: Sept. 8 to Dec. 12

9/4/2025

From Sept. 8 until approximately Dec. 12, 2025, a major road construction project will impact vehicular traffic within Arlington National Cemetery. Refer to the above map for an overview of project phases and detour routes.

•  Portions of the “Yellow Line” road that serves as the cemetery’s main traffic artery (Meigs, Sherman and Schley Drives, between Garfield and Wilson Drives) will be closed to vehicles.

•  Parking on Garfield Drive will be prohibited.

•  The Old Post Chapel Gate will remain open for DoD cardholders and funeral attendees with a Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall visitor pass.

Signage throughout the cemetery will indicate alternate routes. Family pass holders and others authorized to drive through the cemetery should plan for additional travel time.

Pedestrians may continue to use the sidewalk along this route but should exercise caution. Please be mindful of ongoing construction activity and safety fencing.

The project schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions. There will be an additional phase of the project, with more information to follow. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
