Beginning May 7, 2025, all individuals over the age of 18 who are authorized to drive onto Arlington National Cemetery should be prepared to present a REAL ID at the security checkpoint.

Road Closures and Cemetery Access during Army Ten-Miler: Oct. 13

ARLINGTON, Va. – On Sunday, Oct. 13, numerous roads in the vicinity of Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) will be closed for the 40th annual Army Ten-Miler race.

Closures that will impact ANC, between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m.: 

♦  Route 110 North and South, between Rosslyn and Crystal City, will be closed.

♦  The ramp to Route 110 South, near the cemetery’s main entrance on Memorial Avenue, will be closed.

♦  S. Marshall Drive, between Fort Myer and Route 110, will be closed, prohibiting vehicular access through Ord and Weitzel Gate.

What do these closures mean for visitors and family pass holders? 

♦   ANC’s Memorial Avenue entrance will be accessible only via George Washington Parkway or Memorial Circle.

♦   Family pass holders and ANC badge holders may enter through the Service Complex Gate. DoD ID cardholders only may use the Old Post Chapel Gate.


Below is a complete list of road closures. Note that beginning and end times may fluctuate due to the circumstances of the race. Click the map to enlarge.


5 a.m. – 9 a.m.

•  Army-Navy Drive, between the Pentagon City Mall garage entrance and S. Hayes Street (The garage will remain accessible.)

•  Army-Navy Drive, from S. Hayes Street to S. Fern Street

•  S. Fern Street between 12th Street South and Army-Navy Drive

•  Southbound I-395 Exit 8A


5 a.m. – 10 a.m.

•  Eastbound Wilson Boulevard, from N. Kent Street to Route 110 (southbound traffic from Arlington Ridge Road and N. Kent Street will be permitted to travel westbound on Wilson Boulevard.)

•  Westbound I-66, from Washington, D.C., to Exit 73 (closed by the Metropolitan Police Department and the Virginia State Police)


5 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

•  Army-Navy Drive, from S. Fern Street to 12th Street South. (Traffic from northbound S. Fern Street will be permitted to travel west on Army-Navy Drive after approximately 9 a.m.)

•  S. Eads Street, between 12th Street South and Army-Navy Drive (Traffic coming from residences or hotels in the area will be permitted to travel southbound on S. Eads Street via 11th Street South.)

•  S. Eads Street, from Army Navy Drive into the Pentagon reservation/northbound I-395 HOV lanes

•  Northbound I-395 Exit 10A (Access to the George Washington Memorial Parkway will remain open.)

•  Southbound I-395 Exits 8B, 9, 10A

•  Northbound I-395 HOV exit to Pentagon City/S. Eads Street

•  Northbound I-395 HOV exit from Crystal City to the 14th Street Bridge

•  Southbound I-395 HOV exit to S. Eads Street/Pentagon South Parking


5 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Bolded items affect access to Arlington National Cemetery) 

•   Route 110 in both directions, between Rosslyn and Crystal City

•  S. Marshall Drive between Fort Myer and Route 110 (No vehicular access to Ord and Weitzel Gate)

•  Eastbound I-66 Exit 75


7:45 a.m. – 10 a.m.

•  N. Lynn Street, from the top of the ramp at westbound I-66 (Exit 73) to the Key Bridge (Northbound N. Lynn Street traffic will be diverted westbound on Langston Boulevard.)

•  Fort Myer Drive, from the Key Bridge to Langston Boulevard


7:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

•  12th Street South, between S. Eads Street and Long Bridge Drive (Residents may access the garages on 12th Street South.)

•  Long Bridge Drive, between 12th Street South and Boundary Channel Drive


8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

•  Southbound I-395 Exit 8C


Additionally, there will be no access to, or egress from, the Pentagon North Parking lot and Boundary Channel Drive between 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking for Pentagon employees and Pentagon Memorial patrons only will be available in the Pentagon South Parking lot, accessible via Columbia Pike and S. Joyce Street.
