Beat the heat: Summer is on the way

Summer months in the D.C. metropolitan area mean outdoor activities and HEAT! While the excessive heat can be uncomfortable, it can also be unsafe. The good news is that most heat-related illness can be prevented. Those poplations most susceptible to heat-related illnesses are infants and toddlers, the elderly, people working in a hot environment, and individuals with chronic illnesses. However, even young and healthy individuals can succumb to heat if they participate in strenuous physical activities during hot weather without taking proper precautions.

New exhibit open at Arlington National Cemetery

Changes are underway at Arlington National Cemetery's Welcome Center. In a joint Effort with the American Battle Monuments Commission, ANC will unveil its new World War I exhibit in an official grand opening ceremony Friday, March 31, 8 a.m.

Traffic Advisory: Rolling Thunder scheduled for May 28

Arlington Memorial Bridge and Memorial Circle to vehicle traffic Sunday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This road closure is in support of the annual Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally demonstration, which is scheduled as part of the Memorial Day weekend tributes commemorating U.S. men and women who have died in military service to their country.
