Lefranc family wreath laying

Jean-Marc Lefranc, fourth from the left, president of the Comité du Débarquement ("Landing Committee"), and his family lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. Comité du Débarquement (or, "Landing Committee"), is a French organization that plans and sponsors events to commemorate the great sacrifices made by American troops and other Allied service members during the D-Day landing on June 6, 1944.

Numerous public water fountains are located in Arlington National Cemetery, including the one pictured, June 29, 2016, along Custis Walk in Section 36. With the hot and humid weather this summer, please drink plenty of water and bring a clear, plastic refillable water bottle if you visit the cemetery. Also, wear sunscreen and appropriate clothing.
