The Danish Minister of Defense, Dr. Nick Haekkerup, lays a wreath March 26, 2012 in Arlington National Cemetery at the memorial to the 135 U.S. airmen killed over Denmark in World War II as Gen. Joergen Jacobsen salutes. The memorial includes 135 bricks from Denmark, one for each of the airmen. Today marks the start of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC. The festival celebrates the 2012 Centennial of the Gift of Trees.
